Bronx Man Faces Felony DWI Charge In New Rochelle
Police said he lost control of his Jeep on an acceleration ramp to Interstate 95.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Bronx man was accused of drunken driving after a one-car crash on Interstate 95 in New Rochelle.
The New York State Police said a one-car property damage accident happened around 7 p.m. Sunday on I-95 at exit 15 in New Rochelle.
Police said Patrick R. Bridgewater, 67, of the Bronx, lost control of his Jeep Cherokee on the southbound acceleration ramp and became disabled on top of the barrier between the ramps.

He was uninjured, and further investigation found he was intoxicated.
Bridgewater was taken into custody and processed at the New Rochelle barracks where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.15 percent.

Police said he has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years, and as a result, he was charged with felony driving while intoxicated.
Bridgewater was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the City of New Rochelle Court March 22.
