Call for Artists

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts is pleased to announce a Call for Art for the upcoming exhibit in teh Rotunda Gallery entitled “Summer Solstice: Refresh, Reinvent, Reimagine” celebrating the summer season. The Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, fell on June 20th and signifies the pinnacle – the highest point – as well as change –from one season to another. Artists are requested to submit works competed in the last five years that speak to themes of renewal, transformation and completion.

NRCA's Rotunda Gallery is located within New Rochelle City Hall at 515 North Ave., New Rochelle, NY 10801 on the first floor. Both City Hall and the Gallery are public spaces that are accessible to all during City Hall’s standard hours of operation: 8:30 am - 4 pm weekdays. NRCA created the space for exhibitions to support local artists and to create opportunities for a broad range of visual arts to be seen on a regular basis.

Original two- and three-dimensional wall-hung work, in all media, not to exceed a hanging weight of 20 lbs., will be accepted for review as long as it meets all requirements; free-standing works are not eligible for consideration. All work submitted must be available for exhibiting for the duration of the exhibit; substitutions will not be allowed. Artwork can be offered for sale with NRCA retaining a 20% commission. The final work to be exhibited will be selected by the NRCA Rotunda Gallery Committee.

Completed entry and waiver forms must be sent with your email submission that contains 3 images (emailed size approximately 8 x 10 in., 300 dpi jpegs only; no tiffs, pdfs, PowerPoint, etc.), corresponding image list (all jpeg image names should correspond to entry form), single-page artist statement, and single-page résumé to ltrgroup1@aol.com.
