On Friday, June 20th Roscoe’s Room welcomes the
incomparable Christian McBride Trio. One
of the most important and omnipresent figures in the jazz world for 20 years,
McBride is a three-time Grammy winner with a staggering list of
accomplishments: He has worked with the best of the very best, including Sonny
Rollins, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny, as well as
Isaac Hayes, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, and the one-and-only James Brown.
McBride has played with artists as diverse as Sting, Carly Simon, Don Henley,
Roots, D’Angelo, and Queen Latifah. And then there are his collaborations with
opera legend Kathleen Battle, bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer, the Shanghai Quartet
and the Sonus Quartet. A co-Director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem he
is also second Creative Chair for Jazz of the Los Angeles Philharmonic
Association. Two seatings, 7:30 and 9:30 PM; tickets are $25 in advance and $35
