Ancient Greeks/Modern Lives Closing Lecture

Programming for ANCIENT GREEKS / MODERN LIVES: Poetry—Drama – Dialogue, a month-long celebration of classic Greek drama in New Rochelle, comes to a close this week with two events at the New Rochelle Public Library: A free film screening of “Electra” (1962) starring Irene Pappas on Thursday, March 29th at 7 pm and a lecture by Ancient Greeks/Modern Lives creator Peter Meineck on Saturday, March 31st at 2 pm. Prof. Meineck, Artistic Director of the Aquila Theater and Clinical Associate Professor of Classics at New York University, will speak about “The Power of Greek Drama.”

    The Museum of Arts & Culture partnered with the New Rochelle Public Library to bring ANCIENT GREEKS / MODERN LIVES: Poetry—Drama – Dialogue to New Rochelle, presenting an ambitious calendar of programs that has included free public performances, workshops, a concert and lectures as well as an exhibit by the artist Marie Hines Cowan.
