
Children, families and folks of all ages are invited to take part in a “Mini-Renaissance Faire” to kick off the Sound Shore Shakespeare Festival and One City, One Book at Library Green and the Ossie Davis Theater as part of the BID Family Day program. Enjoy live performances including “Hip Hop Shakespeare” (Shakespearean scenes remixed with a modern hip-hop beat by the Point of Entry Theater Company), excerpts from the ballet version of Romeo and Juliet performed by the Ballet Atlantic’s children’s corps, and selections performed by costumed musicians. There will also be demonstrations of leather-making, basket weaving and calligraphy as well as take-home crafts projects for young damsels and knights. All activities are free.
