Flash Flood Warning Issued For Parts Of Lower Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A flash flood warning is in effect for parts of the Hudson Valley Monday. The National Weather Service issued the warning, which is in effect until 7:45 p.m., for southern Westchester and Rockland counties.

The weather service said, shortly before 5 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the two counties. Up to 1 inch of rain has already fallen, and flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches in an hour is expected.

Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses could be impacted.

The weather service said, if you are approaching an area of flooding, turn around. Don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
