Hazardous Weather Possible For Parts Of Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Hazardous weather is possible in parts of the Hudson Valley Monday. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Westchester County that said isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon into early evening.

Localized damaging winds gusts and flash flooding are the main threats with these storms, the weather service said.

For Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties, the hazardous outlook said isolated to scattered non-severe thunderstorms are expected Monday. Plus there is a chance of thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday, if you are planning ahead.

For the region, Monday's forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon for all but the mid-Hudson Valley, where there's a 30 percent chance of precipitation.

The outlier is Orange County where sunny skies are in the forecast Monday.

• Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Light north wind.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Light and variable wind.
• Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.
• Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 81.
• Thursday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
• Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 82.
• Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
