Iona College Hosts 'Sports Psychology, the Athlete and Fame' Sept. 17

The discussion with Dr. Tom Ferraro, sport psychologist, is part of the Iona College School of Arts and Science - Dean's Lecture Series.

The Dean’s Lecture Series of Iona College School of Arts & Science will host a discussion Sept. 17 entitled, “Sport Psychology, the Athlete and Fame.”

Guest speaker for the event is Dr. Tom Ferraro, sports psychologist. The event is free and open to the public, and it will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Romita Auditorium, Ryan Library.

Dr. Ferraro is an internationally known sport psychologist designated as one of the nation’s top mental game gurus by Golf Digest. He is a psychoanalyst with a full-time sport psychology practice in Nassau County, New York where he works with elite and professional golfers.

He publishes columns and features in Asia, the U.S. and Europe on ways to improve your game. He has appeared on all major metropolitan television networks. Dr. Ferraro also writes the cartoon strip “Yin & Yang: Tales of Neurotic Golfers” in Asia and America, and Korea where it appears as a book. His work is featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The London Times, Newsday, the New York Daily News, and the New York Post.
