Metro-North Changes Schedule For Christmas Holiday
Some evening trains Tuesday will be canceled or combined because of reduced ridership.

Ready to get away for the Christmas holiday? Well, Metro-North is in your corner again this year with changes to its schedules. Things start off with Early Christmas Getaway Service for Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Railroad officials said there will be extra trains departing Grand Central Terminal beginning at 1 p.m.
Some evening trains will be canceled or combined because of reduced ridership later in the day.

Trains will operate Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, on a special holiday schedule with hourly service on most line segments. There will be regular weekend service on all branch lines.

On New Year's Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31, Metro-North trains will operate on a reduced weekday schedule in the morning and evening rush hours.
New Year's Eve service includes extra inbound late afternoon and early evening service to get you to wherever you are partying, and there is "overnight" New Year's morning service to get you safely home after the party is over.
Tickets can be purchased in advance using the MTA eTix app. Just make certain you've activated the ticket prior to boarding.
