More Flash Flooding Possible In Southern Westchester: NWS
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning that includes parts of Southern Westchester County already hard hit Thursday.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a flash flood warning for Southern Westchester County.
The warning is in effect until noon on Friday. Parts of Southern Connecticut are also included in the weather warning.
Flash flooding is already occurring, according to the weather service.

The agency said Port Chester and Rye in Westchester should expect to see flooding.
Stamford, Levittown, Freeport, Long Beach, Lindenhurst, Glen Cove, Plainview, Garden City, Massapequa, Lynbrook, Syosset, Mineola, Westbury, Farmingdale, Oyster Bay, Greenwich, Hempstead and Hicksville will also experience flash flooding.

Small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, are expected to be affected.
Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area, the agency reports. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall
amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
