Near Miss As Gunfire Enters House Near Sleeping Man: Police

A New Rochelle man woke to the sound of breaking glass this weekend; police would later discover a bullet in his home.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A man is lucky to have escaped serious injury after a bullet entered his home this weekend, New Rochelle police said.

Early Sunday morning, a man who lives on Drake Avenue called police to report that a window in his house was broken by what he believed was a gunshot. Investigators later discovered that a bullet had entered the home, through a living room window, close to where the man had been sleeping when he heard the sound of glass breaking.

Police say a single round was recovered from the residence. The slug appears to be a 9mm according to authorities.
