New Rochelle Holding Several Memorial Day Events

Schedule includes a veterans' Appreciation service and a dedication of a Vietnam War memorial.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Memorial Day weekend will be a busy one in New Rochelle, as several events are scheduled to take place.

On Sunday, May 28, a decoration of graves with U.S. flags will be done at 9:30 a.m. at Beechwood Cemetery. The event is sponsored by the United Veteran's Memorial & Patriotic Association.

On Monday, May 29, there will be a Memorial Day ceremony at Memorial Plaza, which will be start at 10 a.m. Later that day, at 12 p.m., there will be a Veteran's Appreciation event at Glen Island Park, which will include a free concert, games, food and drinks, and U.S. Marine Corps helicopter landing lots.

The final event will involve the dedication of a new Vietnam War memorial. The dedication ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at New Rochelle City Hall.

The United Veteran's Memorial & Patriotic Association is also involved in the free concert and in the Vietnam War memorial dedication.
