New Rochelle Holiday Lighting Ceremony To Be Virtual

The event will be livestreamed on the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — This year the annual New Rochelle Holiday Lighting ceremony will be held virtually because of the ongoing new coronavirus pandemic.

The New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, the city of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District will present the virtual ceremony at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Mayor Noam Bramson will lead the countdown at Memorial Plaza in the downtown area, lighting both the city's Christmas Tree and Menorah.

"These challenging times make annual ceremonies all the more meaningful," Bramson said. "Although this year's lighting is virtual, we invite families to visit Memorial Plaza in the coming weeks to take photos and enjoy the spirit of the season."
