NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Membership has its privileges — in this case, a Parks Passport will offer admission and free parking to the city's waterfront parks, which will again be open only to New Rochelle residents this summer.

The decision to limit park admittance to residents only was made in an effort to keep crowds small as coronavirus concerns begin to ebb. This summer, it will be mostly business as usual at city parks with a few new safety rules.

'Our parks and facilities have been a mainstay for the community during the pandemic and are now prepared for warm weather enjoyment as we join New York State in reopening,” Parks and Recreation Commissioner Bill Zimmermann in a statement welcoming the unofficial start of the summer season.
