New Rochelle Shooting Suspect Found in Mount Vernon
Police say the victim of the Wednesday morning shooting at a house on Horton St. is the 38-year-old suspect's step-father.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Wednesday afternoon, police arrested a man in connection with a shooting just hours earlier.
Wednesday morning, just before noon, New Rochelle police officers were called to a house on Horton Avenue where a man had been shot.
Investigators learned that the victim had been shot in the forearm. He was on the second floor of the home at the time. The wounded man was treated for what are described as “non-life-threatening” injuries.

The suspect, identified by authorities as Daniel Houghton, fled the scene after the shooting. Police say the victim is the 38-year-old suspect’s step-father.
At around 3 p.m., police located Houghton on South Second Avenue in Mount Vernon. He was taken into custody and will be arraigned in New Rochelle City Court.
