NRCA Members Show Opens
At the Lumen Winter Gallery at the New Rochelle Public Library
“CAVU: Ceiling and Visiility Unlimited” is the theme for this year’s exhibit by visual artists who are members of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts. The exhibit, in the Lumen Winter Gallery at the New Rochelle Public Library, opens Tuesday, March 5th and will remain in view until March 29th. The public is invited to NRCA’s annual Members Showcase, a review style performance by NRCA members who are performing artists, on Sunday, March 10th at 3:30 pm in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater. The free show will be followed by an artists’ reception at 5:30 pm.
The exhibit was curated by NRCA Board members Lynn Honeysett and Justin Christopher, who chose the theme to describe the limitless possibilities of creativity, as well as the importance of creativity as a positive response to turbulent times. Participating artists this year include Murray Beaver, Fanni Miller-Beard, Frank Buddingh, Cristina Cerone, Justin Christopher, Marie Hines Cowan, Charles Fazzino, Amelia Jones, Maureen Meehan, Jesse Sanchez, Ruchama Schecter, Fran Sisco, David Stahl, Patricia Stuart, Joel Trieger and Judith Weber. NRCA Board member Will Bermingham is the producer for the Members’ Showcase.
“The annual members show is a wonderful window into the wealth of local talent right here in New Rochelle,” says Theresa Kump Leghorn, NRCA President. “The exhibit and the performance is an annual tradition that celebrates our members, and a great way to kick off Membership Month,” adds Melissa Panszi-Riebe, NRCA Vice President for Membership.
