Obituary: Former FDNY Firefighter Daniel Foley Of New Rochelle
Foley died from cancer related to the 9/11 attacks at the World Trade Center.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Former New York City firefighter Daniel Foley of New Rochelle died Saturday at the age of 46. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer related to recovery efforts at the World Trade Center in New York City.
His brother Thomas Foley, 32, also a firefighter, died in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the Journal News said.
Daniel Foley spent days at the site searching for his brother, whose body was found 10 days later.

According to his obituary from the Westchester Funeral Home, Daniel Foley is survived by his wife Carrie Benedict Foley, his children Erin, Kiera, Brianne, Kendall and Thomas "TJ," as well as a sister and nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Clarkstown South High School and Iona College.

Foley joined the FDNY in 1998 and was stationed with Rescue Co. 3 in the Bronx.
Visitation is set for 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St. in Eastchester.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church, 83 Clove Road in New Rochelle.
Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
