Obituary: Fred Gallo, Former Iona Prep Coach, Dies At 79

Gallo died due to complications from the new coronavirus.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A former baseball coach for Iona Prep died due to the new coronavirus. Fred Gallo died Friday at the age of 79.

Gallo retired eight years ago, after coaching for 30 years, the Journal News reported.

He let Iona Prep to a championship title in 2003 and retired after leading the team to a second win in 2012.
