Obituary : Kenji Higuchi

Kenji dedicated his career to the food and service industry.

Kenji Higuchi, 67, of Norwalk, passed away on September 19, 2020 at Norwalk Hospital. Kenji was born in Japan on May 21, 1953 as the youngest of three to Kazuo and Chiyoko Higuchi. He immigrated to the United States when he was 20 and lived much of his U.S. life in Westport, CT.

Kenji dedicated his career to the food and service industry. He held various positions in restaurants during his early years in the States. He eventually worked his way to becoming a hibachi chef, to an owner of several Japanese restaurants located in Connecticut and New York. He loved golfing, fishing, and visiting Florida, where he owned a second home. Kenji was a great father, husband, friend, mentor, and golf buddy. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by wife, Tami Higuchi; his four children, Yuka, Kentaro, Mie, and Kana; his brother, Yasuo Higuchi; sister, Kazuko Bitou, and two nieces, Nobuko and Seiko.

Friends are invited to a wake on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 4:00 until 9:00 PM at the HOYT-Cognetta / Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk.
