Obituary: Ralph Pelella, 94, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Ralph Pelella, age 94, of New Rochelle, beloved husband of the late Ersilia DeRose Pelella, died on Friday, Feb. 19, surrounded by his family.

Pelella was born in Afragola, Italy, on Oct. 24, 1926, to the late Aniello and Vincenza Guerra Pelella.

He worked as a painter for most of his life. Pelella loved dancing and would ballroom dance weekly up until he was 92 years old.

Survivors include his children: Neil Pelella (Lisa Finch) of Milford, Connecticut, and Vincenza Pelella of New Rochelle and granddaughter Jacqueline Pelella of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.

Pelella is predeceased by his two brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Ave., Milford, Connecticut.
