Passover: 650 Seder Meals For Kosher Westchester Families
JCC of Mid-Westchester volunteers are helping to deliver for 150 families in need by putting kosher Seder meals on the table this Passover.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — In the spirit of the season, the UJA-Federation of New York is helping 150 kosher households in Westchester celebrate Passover with lovingly prepared Seder meals. The holiday appropriate kosher meals, Seder plates and Passover groceries were packaged by volunteers from the JCC of Mid-Westchester and then delivered directly to families in Westchester on Wednesday.

The traditional 650 Seder meals were catered by Seasons Kosher Caterer and Supermarket. The Seder meals included all the appropriate provisions, including gefilte fish with red horseradish, chicken consommé, matzah balls, rotisserie chicken, potato kugel, steamed vegetables, seven-layer cake, matzah and grape juice.

The ceremonial Seder plates included parsley, egg, charoset, shank bone and horseradish. The traditional plates contain the symbolic ingredients consumed during Seder rituals.
The kosher grocery care packages were provided by the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty. The deliveries included matzah, canned tuna, gefilte fish, macaroons, jelly, oil and grape juice.

The Passover meals, Seder plates and groceries items were provided through a grant from UJA.
