SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER, NY — A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for southern Westchester County. It is in effect until 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
At 2:11 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ridgewood to Rocky Hill, moving east at 35 mph.
Wind gusts of 60 mph can be expected. Damage to trees and power lines can also be expected.
The National Weather Service said, for your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
