Super Soaker Robbery Injures Mugging Victim, Suspects At Large

New Rochelle police say two suspects armed with water guns, chased and tackled a man before robbing him of money and belongings.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A man attacked by water gun-wielding muggers was robbed of more than $500 and suffered minor injuries late last night.

The incident on the 100 block of Union Avenue took place just before midnight on July 1. The victim told police that he was walking near the street when he noticed that he was being followed by a black SUV. Two attackers reportedly jumped out of the vehicle carrying Super Soaker-style water guns.

The squirt gun-carrying muggers are said to have chased and tackled the victim before making off with $520 in cash, a bank card and the victim's identification. The attackers were then picked up by the SUV which was driven by a third suspect, according to cops.

The mugging victim was slightly injured in the scuffle. Police say he declined medical treatment for a scraped left elbow.

The victim described the two suspects who attacked him only as "Black males."
