
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A tornado watch was issued for parts of the Hudson Valley Thursday. At 3:15 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
It is is effect until 8 p.m. Thursday.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the area in an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon into the evening. In a hazardous weather outlook, the center said severe thunderstorms are likely with damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or higher, along with large hail as the primary threats. An isolated tornado is also possible along with brief heavy rainfall.
