Trooper Struck In Hit-And-Run On I-95 in New Rochelle

New York State Police said the trooper was conducting a traffic stop when he was hit by a van. Police are searching for the driver.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New York State Police trooper was struck by a van in New Rochelle Wednesday night and the driver fled, police said.

The trooper was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 95 south near mile marker 6.3 when the crash happened, police said. The trooper, whose name has not yet been released, was walking back to his patrol car when he was hit by the white van shortly before 9 p.m., police said.

The trooper was treated at White Plains Hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

State police asked anyone with information on the crash to contact Troop T at 518-436-2825.
