Valet Parking Is Now An Option At The Library South Municipal Lot

Will you use the new valet parking amenity at the city-owned lot in downtown New Rochelle or would you prefer not to hand over the car keys?

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — There's no need to feed the meter when you pass your keys to the valet at the municipal parking lot near the New Rochelle Public Library.

Officials say the new valet parking option in the city-owned Library South parking lot is intended to complement downtown shopping and dining this summer. The city and LAZ Parking launched valet parking as an optional amenity at only the Library South Lot, located just off Main Street between Lawton Street and Memorial Highway.

“This is an exciting addition that will enable our residents and visitors to park safely and securely while patronizing our excellent restaurants and retail shops downtown,” New Rochelle City Council Member Ivar Hyden said in a statement announcing the fancy new service.

Valets will be on duty Thursday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The public parking valet feature has a high tech twist. Drivers pull up to the valet podium located off Memorial Highway where valets will provide a virtual claim ticket. The valets then secure car keys and park the car. To retrieve cars, drivers either send a text with an anticipated arrival time or simply return to the valet podium.
