James Sayers, age 86 of Brewster, NY formerly of New Rochelle, NY passed away at home on June 15, 2015.
Jimmy was born on June 4, 1929 in County Kerry, Ireland to James and Mary Sayers. He emigrated to the United States in 1954 and married his late wife Maisie on October 24, 1959 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in the Bronx, NY.
Jimmy and Maisie resided in New Rochelle, NY from 1959-1994 and were faithful parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Church. For over 30 years Jimmy enjoyed working with the Irish Christian Brothers at Iona College in New Rochelle where he was recognized for his loyal and dedicated service.

Upon retirement Jim and Maisie moved to Brewster, NY where they were parishioners of Sacred Heart Church in Patterson, NY.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Maura Sayers of New York City, his brother Thomas Sayers of Rye, NY and his sister Mary Tyther of County Kerry, Ireland.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Patterson, NY on Friday June 19, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorn, NY. Family may receive friends on Thursday June 18, 2015 from 4-8pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.
Jimmy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
