On The Water In The Hudson Valley: Lucky Shamrock Fishing Charter
The best fishing holes are often well-kept secrets, but the Shamrock IV in New Rochelle is an open secret among the best anglers.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — To be a great sports fisherman, it helps to know where the fish are and it helps to know someone with a boat — it's lucky you know about the Shamrock IV.
Captain Pat and the crew of the Shamrock IV may specialize in private charter fishing trips, but there are plenty of opportunities for fishermen who would prefer to join scheduled trips in search of Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Porgy, Sea Bass or Flounder. The boat, which sails from Fort Slocum Dock, also offers scheduled sunset fishing cruises through the third week in September. The popular family-friendly cruises depart at 5 p.m. daily and return by 9 p.m. daily.
Additionally, the Shamrock has regular full day excursions on weekends throughout the summer. The full day trips depart at 8 a.m. and return at 3 p.m.

The Shamrock is a custom-built 60-foot, solid fiberglass vessel that is U.S. Coast Guard-certified to carry 60 passengers. The boat has modern amenities (including a surround sound stereo system, color TV and DVD player, separate men's and ladies' restrooms and a giant cooler for beer and soda with plenty of free ice from an on-site ice machine) to make a three-hour tour as comfortable as it is bountiful.
Of course, if you prefer to have the Shamrock just to you and your friends, charter options include private fishing trips for between 10 and 50 passengers.
