Best Places To Raise A Family In The HV: 2021 Niche Rankings

24 Hudson Valley communities are among the top places in New York, though LI neighborhoods dominate statewide rankings.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Many Hudson Valley communities made Niche.com's 2021 survey of the best places to raise a family.

Chappaqua is the only local community to make Niche's national list, clocking in at No. 86. As for the state rankings, 24 local communities were listed among the top 100 places for families.

Highest on the New York list, four Westchester communities are in the top 20. Here are their rankings.

In the statewide rankings, another 17 Hudson Valley communities ranked between 100-200. Check out the list, which is dominated by Long Island communities and neighborhoods.

The rankings were based on public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data from the U.S. Census, FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was also factored in.
