Commuter Concerns Addressed At New South Nyack Bus Stops
For one thing, the center line on Franklin Street Extension (Road F) has been re-striped to give buses more room to turn.

SOUTH NYACK, NY — South Nyack officials shared concerns from residents about safety issues at the new Hudson Link bus stops on the Franklin Street Extension with both the New York State Thruway Authority and state Department of Transportation. Since then, two signs have been installed and the road has been re-striped, Mayor Bonnie Christian reported Nov. 15.
- The “Yield to Pedestrians” sign has been installed at the southeast corner of Clinton Avenue and South Franklin Street.
- The “Merging Traffic” sign has been installed on Route 9W north (approaching Interchange 10).
- The center line on Franklin Street Extension (Road F) has been re-striped to give buses more room to turn.
She said crosswalk signage will soon be installed. Lighting for the bus shelters has been designed and will soon be installed. A layout for a bench to be installed in the one shelter is being worked on. Flashing crosswalk beacons will be designed and installed on Road F.

Christian said she and village Trustee Catherine McCue spent time at the bus stops in October so that they could experience what early morning commuters were facing.
