
Orangetown has commenced Phase II of its Route 340 Sidewalk Project. For pedestrian, worker and motorist safety, traffic flow in this area east of Rte 303 has to be restricted from Aug. 1-15, transportation officials said.
Northbound Route 303 traffic attempting to turn right onto Route 340 will be detoured north to turn right onto Kings Highway in Orangeburg instead.
Southbound Route 303 traffic attempting to turn left onto Route 340 will be detoured south to turn left onto Kings Highway in Tappan.

Both detours will bring motorists back to Route 340 in the Sparkill area. They will be in effect from 9 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday until on or about Aug. 15.

All traffic in the Route 303 / Route 340 area of Orangburg (Orangetown) should expect delays from a roadwork related detour. Avoid the area unless travel in that area is required. If it is, please follow all flag person and detour directions, transportation department officials asked.
