Don't Miss Nyack Feasts Through Sunday

Participating restaurants are offering a variety of deals. "People have been locked up for months ... They need a break," said one chef.

NYACK, NY — Nyack is hosting its own restaurant week through Sunday, giving diners a chance to eat in or take out from 17 participating businesses in town.

"Let’s save our restaurants, and let’s do it by offering people our best food at great prices,” said Nyack Mayor Don Hammond in a news release about the festive week. "Nyack is a mecca for great food. We’re also a community of small businesses struggling to survive the pandemic."

Participating restaurants include:

"People have been locked up for months — cooking the same meals at home over and over. They need a break — really, really good but exciting food that a talented chef cooks for them. That's what Nyack Feasts is all about," said Constantine Kalandranis of The Greekish.

The participating restaurants are offering a variety of deals including discounts of up to 20 percent on indoor dining and pick-ups, and special menus at special prices, plus free items to accompany orders, as well as family meals ready to go at discounted prices.

"Nyack is not a one-size-fits-all community," said event organizer Mark Davidoff, director of Nyack's Hudson Market on Main and Rockland Community College Hospitality & Culinary Arts Center. "Our restaurant community is all about Nyack's creativity, variety and multi-cultural cuisines. We're not taking a standard 'restaurant week' one-offer approach. Each participating restaurant crafts its own special brand of culinary magic."

A full listing of their offers is on the Visit Nyack website.

By the way, free parking is also available throughout the village on Sunday.

"Restaurants nationwide are struggling," said John Gendy of Broadway Bistro. "Nyack is no different. But we're proud to be working our way through the crisis and keeping our kitchens going until times get better, as we know they will."

Nyack Feasts is sponsored by Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. "This event makes a powerful connection between businesses, civic leaders such as Nyack Ridge, and the community," Hammond said.
