Don't Miss: Holiday Lights, Crafts and Gifts this Weekend in Nyack

Plus a new historic exhibit -- busy weekend

It will be a little drier on Saturday and Sunday, which means that it is a good chance to get out an about. This pre-Christmas weekend gives you plenty of opportunity with many events going on, some seasonal and some not. Here are some things to do:

Holiday Lights: The Veterans Park Gazebo in Nyack is the location 4-6 p.m. Saturday for a tree lighting, entertainment, refreshments, and a visit from Santa. For openers, kids of all ages can enjoy free refreshments served by Patisserie Didier Dumas and Sweet Pea Market. Everyone can then settle in and enjoy the sounds of the season offered by the Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus under the direction of Jared Rosenblum, as well as the Sunrise Choir from Nyack’s Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church directed by Joanne Turnbull. The Bossy Frog Band, with Jeffrey Friedberg, will also lend its special brand of musical fun to the festivities. To top off the merriment, the Highland Hose Company has made special arrangements for a visit from Santa himself — and if everyone is good, there will be presents. This year’s Holiday Lights celebration is made possible by Blue Rock School and Nyack pediatrician Dr. Kenneth Zatz, MD. The Chamber thanks The Pour House for donating the tree, and Highland Hose Company for working their special connections with the North Pole.

“Crocks, Bottles and Jugs” in Nyack: The Historical Society of the Nyacks will open a new exhibit, “Crocks, Bottles, and Jugs,” on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Historical Society of the Nyacks Museum is located in the lower level of the Depew House, behind the Nyack Library, at 50 Piermont Avenue.
