The Historical Society of the Nyacks will be hosting its eighth Great Nyack House Tour on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10 to 4 p.m. (Rain or Shine).

Titled “Architectural Gems,” this special tour invites visitors to step inside and explore several stunning homes in the Nyacks. There will be seven stops this year at houses ranging from Gothic Revival and Queen Anne Victorian styles to a converted barn with spectacular river views! Scheduled on the day before Mother's Day, this is a wonderful gift for Mom.

Many of the houses have been recognized for their architectural and historic importance. The Carson McCullers house, featured on this year's tour, is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places for its association with this renowned American author who made Nyack her home from 1945 until her death. On this tour you will see the apartment where McCullers wrote The Member of the Wedding and many other novels, short stories and poems.
