Five Things to Do for New Year’s in Rockland

Wrap up the year with some fun and frolic.

The old year 2016 is rapidly dwindling away and 2017 is set to start. If you want to see the old year out with a bang and welcome the new, here are some places to do that:

New Year’s Eve at Time Nyack: Celebrate the New Year with dining and dancing at the Time Nyack Hotel. The evening includes a dinner package or a party package. The dinner is $75 per person for a three-course prix-fixe dinner and a champagne toast. The party package is $75 per person for a four-=hour open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and music and dancing with a DJ from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. A package that combines both is $125 per person. New Year’s Eve at Dave & Buster’s: Dave & Buster’s will have a New Year’s Eve Celebration from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday. The fee is $47 for a child under 11, $85 for a teen aged 12 to 20, and $124 for an adult, which includes a 4-hour bat package, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required. The evening includes a $20 Power card to the midway, a buffet from 9 p.m. to midnight, a dessert buffet and unlimited soda, as well as a DJ and dancing. Kids Celebrate at Winter Wonderland: The Winter Wonderland at Kensico Dam in Valhalla, Westchester will hold its first Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday. The event starts at 8 p.m. with an early ball drop, followed by fireworks. The New Year’s Eve celebration will include all of Westchester’s Winter Wonderland regular activities that begin at 5:00 p.m. that evening, including rides, ice skating, circus performances, strolling characters and more. This year’s Wonderland features Hanneford’s Holiday Circus and the Santa Experience. General admission tickets are $15.

A Mid-Day Kids’ New Year’s Party: The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum will hold its biggest party of the year from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The party will include pop music, dancing, and super cool activities! Every hour there will be a special surprise as everyone counts down to noon. The museum is at 75 North Water Street in Poughkeepsie. Tickets are $10 for members and $14 for non-members. For more information, click here.

New Year’s Eve in Saugerties: There will be celebrations in the Village of Saugerties on Saturday. The evening will include performances on the stage on Main Street from 10:30 p.m., with refreshments and hot chocolate from the Boy Scouts. At midnight, there will be a countdown and a ball drop o Main and Partition Streets. Many restaurants and bars in the village are offering specials.
