Here are the details for what could be a day of record-breaking heat in the region.
Record breaking temperatures are likely across the Hudson Valley Wednesday. Highs could touch 90 degrees in and around the metro area, according to the National Weather Service.
Such temperatures are 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit above the normal highs for this time of year. Plus, the humidity will make it feel even hotter.
Then, a cold front from the north will bring showers and thunderstorms this afternoon into early evening. In the wake of the front, gusty winds will bring much, much cooler temperatures along with rain over the following days, possibly dropping into the 30s Friday night.
