Join News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck at WCFR Gala 2017!

The WCFR Sixth Anniversary & Fundraising Gala will be held on September 30th, 2017 from 6-10 pm at The Time Nyack in Nyack, NY.

Nyack, N.Y. (August 27, 2017) – Join Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 for their Sixth Anniversary and Fundraising Gala. The gala will bring together like-minded individuals and businesses who share the same belief that education and training can help save lives, while celebrating the organization’s accomplishments and honoring their lifesaving partners. The event, from 6-10 pm, will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at The Time Nyack, a new, hip, and upscale 133-room boutique lifestyle hotel, where those coming to Nyack, NY can stay in comfort. Attendees can expect free valet parking, live entertainment, fine dining from BV’s Grill and an open bar.

Award-winning News 12 Westchester/Hudson Valley meteorologist Brysen Van Eck is thrilled to be working for his hometown station. A resident of Airmont, Brysen has been working with the News 12 Networks since 1999. Westchester and Hudson Valley residents have previously heard Brysen's voice on News 12 Traffic and Weather. In addition, Brysen has made numerous fill-in appearances over the years on News12 Westchester, News12 Long Island, News12 Connecticut, and News12 New Jersey.

In 2008, Brysen was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Weather Anchor in the New York City Market. In addition, Brysen was nominated in 2008 and 2009 for an Emmy Award for Best Daytime Newscast. Brysen also received a NY Press Club Award for Best Daytime Newscast, for the “Hudson Valley Daytime Edition”. Brysen holds the American Meteorological Society’s prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal, which he obtained in October of 2006. Other previous accomplishments Brysen has made with the News12 networks include the development of the weather maps for News12.com, and News12 Interactive’s (Channel 612) weather section. For News12 Interactive, Brysen has been nominated for numerous awards, including a New York City Emmy and a National Emmy.

Brysen graduated Cornell University in 1998 with a degree in Meteorology. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing the public courses of Westchester and Rockland, hiking in Harriman State Park, and rooting for the Mets, Knicks and Giants. Brysen and his wife Lauren live in Airmont, along with their daughter Hannah, and son Keirnan.

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. was founded in September 2011 with a mission “to prevent deaths worldwide through education and training”. Their programs have proven to empower individuals in their own community and save lives. WCFR has educated and trained over 250,000 people worldwide. All funds raised at the gala will support their programs that save lives.
