Keep Rockland Beautiful Raises $10K For Environmental Programs

The money will be put towards educational programs throughout the year.

From Keep Rockland Beautiful: On Mother’s Day, Keep Rockland Beautiful celebrated Mother Earth and the organization’s 20th Anniversary, by staging a fun group event that raised nearly $10,000 which will be put toward the various educational programs they provide throughout the year.

Participants braved spring showers to hold the pose together with Rockland Lake as a beautiful natural backdrop, symbolizing that we need to all work together in harmony with the environment to support the health of Mother Earth. The event was documented by drone photography and promoted on social media using the hashtag #MothersDay4MotherEarth. Local yoga instructors were on hand for warm up, stretching, and instruction for “tree” pose – a

simple yoga posture that can be done by raising your hands in the air which simulates the branches of a tree.
