Author Brenda Ross will discuss the various threads of research woven into her historical fiction novel, Bibsy. Published in 2015, Bibsy gives greater insight into the complexity of African American lives. Set in 1952, with the construction of the New York State Thruway and the Tappan Zee Bridge as a back drop, a rural enclave becomes a casualty of suburbanization.
Brenda Ross is a trustee of the Historical Society of the Nyacks and a former editorial assistant and member of the editorial board of The Journal News.
This lecture is being presented by the Historical Society of the Nyacks as part of its John Scott Armchair Tour lecture series.
