Medical Emergency Kills Truck Driver Next To Downed Wires

Police and emergency medical personnel got the power turned off so they could try to treat the unconscious man.

WEST NYACK, NY — Clarkstown police were called to a medical emergency on Route 59 West Nyack April 8. They found power lines across a dump truck. The driver of the truck, Richard Croll, was unconscious and then died ― not from electrocution but from an undetermined medical issue, police said.

Once power was turned off to the power lines both police and EMS responders were able to attempt to render aid to Croll, 57, of Westtown, police said.
