NY17's Schleifer Hosts Special Virtual Coming Together Town Hall
Schleifer Hosted a Conversation with Local Community Leaders on Immigration Reform, Racial Inequalities, and Building a Better Future

Adam Schleifer is running for Congress to serve the people of Rockland County and northern & central Westchester County.
On Thursday, May 28th at 6pm, Adam hosted a special version of his weekly policy-focused Virtual Town Hall Series.
The focus of today's Town Hall was Coming Together; aimed at creating a dialogue with community leaders and activists on localizing issues facing NY-17 including immigration reform, bridging racial inequalities, and building a better, more inclusive future for all residents in this uncertain era. The resulting dialogue offered insights into the issues and obstacles facing the Latinx, African American, Haitian American and all under-represented communities in New York's 17 District.

Joining Adam for the engaging virtual panel and discussion streamed on Zoom and Facebook Live were:
- Wilbur Aldridge, Regional Director, Lower Hudson Valley, for the NAACP
- Valerie Eaton, President of the Peekskill Chapter of the NAACP
- Leon Fresco, Immigration Attorney at Holland & Knight and leading legislative voice on immigration policy reform;
- Seema Roc, Founding Member and Board Member of the Haitian American Alliance for Change (HAPAC)
- Lesly Senatus, Co-Host of the Haitian American Radio Panik Show

About Adam Schleifer:
Adam Schleifer is running for Congress to serve the people of Rockland County and northern & central Westchester County (NY-17).
Adam Schleifer, 38, graduated from Chappaqua's public schools in 1999 and went on to attend Cornell University and Columbia University Law School, where he served as a Senior & Staff Development Editor on the Columbia Law Review. After graduating from law school, Schleifer served two years as a federal law clerk, first in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and then in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Schleifer then built a career at one of the nation's leading law firms before reentering public service, first as a New York State consumer-protection regulator, and then as an Assistant United States Attorney. Schleifer has prosecuted regulatory and federal-criminal actions against predatory payday and subprime auto lenders; taken dangerous and illegal weapons out of communities; prosecuted crimes of sexual violence and predation; and protected our clean air by prosecuting a conspiracy to violate the Clean Air Act. Adam Schleifer and his wife, Nicole, are residents of New Castle.
