Nyack NAACP Youth Council Held Annual “Back to School Success"

The keynote speaker talked of the vitally important roles both learning and higher education play in developing a new generation of leaders.

NYACK, NY — The Nyack NAACP Youth Council held its annual “Back to School Success” event, featuring the program “Our Civil Rights Then & Now,” on Sept. 22 at Nyack High School.

The event was sponsored by Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) through a $2,500 grant.

The program’s keynote speaker, Rev. Dr. Jamal H. Bryant, Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga., discussed the vitally important roles both learning and higher education play in developing a new generation of leaders dedicated to achieving the community’s goals.
