Nyack School District Voters Guide

NYACK, NY —If you live in the Nyack school district here's what you need to know.

Residents of the district will also vote to fill two seats on the Board of Education. Trustee Damon Bender's second term expires in June as does Karen Hughes' third term. they, plus Upper Nyack parent and longtime educator John Duval are running.

School budget:

• Proposed for 2021-22: $91,388,000
• Increase over current spending: 0.78 percent

Facilities improvement:

• $940,000 – At Nyack Middle School to expand parking facilities and improve traffic flow through the campus
• $160,000 – In the middle school cafeteria to improve functionality for students and food service workers
• At Nyack High School to support creation of an environmentally sustainable parking area adjacent to the athletic fields and to improve the campus roadway
• At Hilltop Professional Development/Conference Center to convert the former college leased fitness center into a professional development conference site for the District.
