Nyack's Cheesecake Connoisseur Wins Again

Lisa Dosch -- the baker behind the award-winning Westgate cheesecakes in Nyack -- has snagged another accolade for her trophy room.

Dosch recently won the confection competition at the New Jersey State Fair for the second year in a row, with her blueberry, plain and coconut cheesecakes winning two first-place ribbons and one second-place ribbon, respectively.

Dosch's pecan pie bars also placed.

A Nyack favorite, Dosch allowed her customers to choose which cakes she would submit, with coconut coming out on top.

"Watching the expressions on the customer’s faces are always an enjoyment to watch," Dosch said. "I tell everyone to let it melt in their mouth.  hen the full flavor fills your pallets and you’re in cheesecake heaven."
