Obituary: Fils Raphael, 71

Fils A. Raphael of Margate, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the age of 71. He is a former resident of Rockland County. 

Fils was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Mezulia Adorable and Kermolius Raphael. He married and had 4 children. He is predeceased by 6 sisters and 2 brothers. His adoring brother, Bernardin Raphael, survives him. He is also survived by his loving children, Erica, Fidel, Joanne, and Alex, his son-in-law, Drake Randall, and his beautiful grandchildren, Cayla, Caleb, Alexis, and Jake. 

In addition, Mr. Raphael is survived by his brother-in-law, Stenio Colimon, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Mr. Raphael earned a license as an electrician and worked at Lederle Laboratories for many years. He re-located to Florida and became a very active member of the church community, often leading outreach programs, which he enjoyed a good deal. 

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, Nyack, N.Y. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 10:00 am. Visiting hours are on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. at Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack.
