Palisades Center Will Close On Thanksgiving
The pandemic is bringing many changes, but it won't stop Santa from showing up at the mall later in November.

WEST NYACK, NY — With the 2020 holiday season shaping up to be like no other, the Palisades Center and its tenants are thinking past the shopping-frenzy mindset that has come to characterize Thanksgiving in America.
That doesn't mean that Santa won't show.
It does mean that for the first time, Palisades Center will join fellow industry leaders by closing on Thanksgiving Day.

"If the challenges of the pandemic have taught us anything, it is the value of time with family," said Palisades Center’s Marketing Director Keri Cunningham. "It is our hope that our guests, tenants and on-site staff will be able to spend additional time with their loved ones and re-charge during the most active shopping season of the year."
Earlier this year, retail marketing experts accurately predicted that retailers would encourage consumers to start their holiday shopping earlier by extending exclusive deals throughout the season in lieu of the traditional high-trafficked Thanksgiving/Black Friday kickoff, Cunningham said.

Many of Palisades Center's tenants are following the trend.
"We are seeing the early deals and shoppers and are encouraged by many of our tenants’ plans to break up the traditional, one-day-only, Black Friday rush," said Cunningham. "The spreading-out of sales and deep discounts throughout the entire holiday season should help minimize lines and crowds. The deals to be had will be bigger than ever and available earlier than ever."
Palisades Center follows guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control, New York State and Rockland County to ensure the safety of guests and employees. Masks and social distancing will continue to be required to enter the property and guests are encouraged to follow the center’s Healthy Shopper Guidelines.
Santa's scheduled return to Palisades Center in late November will come with new safety protocols.
