Pearl River Boys Hoops Wins Big Against Rival Tappan Zee

The Pearl River boys basketball team jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and controlled the game throughout in a 60-37 victory over rival Tappan Zee at home Thursday. 

Senior forward Kevin Degnan led the Pirates with 22 points and 11 rebounds, but Pearl River's offense was balanced with James Linnane and Thomas Armour each contributing 12 points. Linnane also pulled down 12 rebounds.

Junior Luke McLaughlin was the only Tappan Zee player in double figures with 14 points.

Tappan Zee had won the last five meetings against Pearl River.
