Police Chase On Palisades Center Drive After Assault Report
A Queens man faces three felony weapons charges and more.
WEST NYACK, NY — Police called to reports of an assault in progress in parking lot B at the Palisades mall on Sunday found a suspect driving at high speed around the Palisades Center Drive ring road.
The calls came in at 7 p.m. Witnesses reported that a man was assaulting two women and had been heard threatening to shoot them.
A description of the suspect and his vehicle was broadcast to responding officers, who were able to stop the vehicle despite the driver's attempts to elude police.

During a search of the vehicle, officers said they found a loaded .380 caliber firearm and several plastic bags containing marijuana.
The two women alleged to have been assaulted refused medical attention at the scene.

The man, a 26-year-old from Queens Village, NY, was charged with Criminal Possession of a weapon 2nd (felony), Criminal possession weapon - previous conviction 3rd (felony), Criminal possession of a firearm (felony), Criminal possession of stolen property 4th (felony), Resisting Arrest (misdemeanor), and Reckless Endangerment 2nd (misdemeanor).
He was at Clarkstown Police headquarters awaiting future arraignment Monday evening.
