RCC Students Challenge Chess Grandmaster

Rockland Community College students today are taking on a chess grandmaster to see just how good he really is.

Faculty and staff members may also challenge the grandmaster and Gennady Sagalchik will play up to 25 opponents at the same time. Rockland County high school students are also invited to participate.   

The chess challenge runs from noon to 4 p.m. today at the RCC Student Union. Chess sets are available for the challenge, but participants may bring their own sets. Refreshments will be available and are free for student players, but faculty and staff are asked to contribute $5.

This event is open to the public. The Chess Event is sponsored by the RCC Student Government Association, the Office of Student Involvement and the RCC Chess Club.
