Red Cross Helping Families Displaced In South Nyack Fire
The Friday afternoon blaze engulfed a multi-family house on Berachah Avenue.
SOUTH NYACK, NY — A multi-family building at 3 Berachah Ave. in South Nyack caught fire Friday afternoon. Local fire departments responded including Nyack, Central Nyack and Piermont, with others also standing by.
Three families were displaced, seven adults and six children. All needed assistance, including financial help for emergency relocation and personal items, referrals and comfort kits.
"Our casework team will be following up providing emotional support & further assistance as needed," said Carolyn Sherwin of the Red Cross.
